I can’t remember how I end
up watching this drama, maybe I got to this drama thru my eeny, meeny, miny,
moe selection… hihihi, coz I don’t
really like reading anything about a drama or a movie before seeing it… I want
to surprise myself all the time when it comes to watching online.. if the film
is good or bad I want to be surprised and know for myself when I get
there. So this one is one of those… I saw the thumbnail photo but I
intentionally blurred my eyes to the cast lists and the synopsis (what I do
most of the time). I just click it right away and had the idea that its a
historical drama based on the thumbnail photo.
So, as I move along, episode per episode I recognize one by one the
actors playing… they were from other dramas that I’ve watched
before....recognizing them excites me to move along.
The entrance to this drama
gave me the idea that it’s a tragic one… sword fighting and blood… so I
prepared myself… the ending will be grievous and the anguish will remain in my
brain for couple of days after watching.
This drama captured me from
beginning till end…this is wonderfully made.
Since it started in the
sword fighting and assassination scene… It stuck in my mind that lead actor
will die….I’m in anticipation…but as I move along… ow this drama is more than that…I have seen the
transformation of the main characters from carefree young people to serious and
full of angst young adults caused by Greed of Power and Greed of Love.
The love story of the lead
characters, Lee Se Ryung (Moon Chae Won) and Kim Seung Yoo (Park Shi Hoo) was
really moving… first… it brought smile to my face because of their cute and
funny moments together, then…tingling in my heart when they started showing
affection to each other...desperation…. when the complications in their
families took place…( misunderstanding kills the cat… that’s what had happened here hahha)…from lovers so in love
they become enemies… I really felt the anger of Seung Yoo(Park Shi Hoo) because
of the assassination of his family, mandated by Lee Se Ryung’s( Moon Chae Won)
Father… Wow that scene… where he looked
at Se Ryung and his eyes are really red out of anger…wow.. I thought to
myself… Park Shi Hoo is a great actor… coz
a little episode ago..His eyes were
really different…full of love for Se Ryung and now bloody red because of
anger…He wanted to kill her on the spot……but the love of Se Ryung for him is
just so great she would catch a grenade for him.. hahaha actually she did but
not grenade an arrow hahahha…. so Yeah! This made me stick more into this
drama…for a 24 episode drama…this is super full packed.
I was also attracted to the
love story of Jung Jong and Princess Kyung Hye.. I can’t believe at first…but
that’s how great the maker of this drama is… I didn’t expected a Princess to be
paired with…ammm frog? Joke!…. Coz the character of Jung Jong is not really
suited for any Princess… but then…. DON’T JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER…..yeah I
also fell in love with the character of Jung Jong…hahaha He became more and
more handsome in the latter episodes…. (watch it!.. you’ll know why).
The saddest part for me is
not the assassination of Shi hoo’s family or his separation with Se-Ryung ..but
the breaking of best friendships…compromising friendships because of the
complications of families and the greed of power and love…its really
heartbreaking…. I cried a lot in the ‘friendships” part of this drama.
I don’t want to spoil the
ending for those who haven’t watched it yet… All I can say is that I’m really
satisfied with the whole story… no boring moments only excitement , that’s why
I gave this drama 5 ramen because It ‘s
worth the watch… more than… that’s why I watched the drama 3x now and I
want to watch it again in the future.
