I
anticipated this movie to be a serious one.
I
have no idea of how the story will go since I don’t read synopsis before
watching… so I just assumed that it will be dramatic since Kim Soo Hyun is
playing the lead role…so I prepared myself to a heroic melodramatic movie
(based on the title).
Yeah…
the start is serious…. Lieutenant Won Ryu-hwan (Kim Soo Hyun) is a top agent of
North Korea sent so be a spy in South Korea….actually, there are others too who
were sent to spy the South and to do missions coming from their leader to serve
the purpose of their country. It was serious… then all of a sudden...the
comedic scenes.
I
laughed hard at some idiot parts coz its really crazy funny but yucky too
specially the pooping part (yuck!)… but then…slowly the mood of this movie
changed...it’s becoming dramatic with the mystery effects…since it’s a spy
movie, I thought to myself… ow maybe it will be back to being funny again after
some scenes… but I was wrong…the story become more and more sensitive… and
heartbreaking and depressing.
How
can I say it?...The story is not bad at all… actually it has great sense. It
came to me that people like them… trained from young age to do something great
in the future are like chess pieces… whatever they’re asked to do they must do
or else they will be treated as traitors… and also the part where I realized
that Dong-gu (Kim Soo Hyun) truly accomplished his dream to be great… He is
great for those village people whom he lived with for 2 years…He’s actually an
enemy of the country but he became attached with them and showed his concern to
them…. This part is touching for me. And also the relationships of the 3
spies... willingness to give up their lives for one another….its friendship and
loyalty…so its really touching…not to forget the longing of Won
Ryu-hwan/Dong-gu to meet his mother…Its heartfelt.
The
acting is not bad too… the transition of the characters played by Kim Soo Hyun,
from an idiot to top agent back to idiot again back to being top agent..well
he’s really a great actor…I can see the difference not just because of the hair
but because of his acting.
So,
Yeah… the movie is good… but… then… I didn’t like it. It’s like I’ve been to a
fight after watching it… Its like my brain got tired from watching… its like
eating a greatly cooked variety of dishes but mixed altogether and it became
awfully tasting dish… you had tummy ache after eating… yeah, that’s my watching
experience with this movie.
I
give this movie 3 ramen since it has sensible story and because it was acted
good but this is the kind of movie I
won't be watching again even if someone (purple shinobi) force me hahha… its
hopeless…and depressing.
