I was excited to see this movie coz I love
watching food and cooking based dramas and movies and anime as well, so I really
expected this to be a mouth-watering and really drooling and enjoyable and
exciting one. So as expected, there’s the showcase of
Korean dishes…Yummy! And of course in every cooking movies or dramas there’s
the story behind it. How can I say it??... mmm…the story behind this movie, of
how they ended up to cooking battle for the inheritance of the cooking knife and to be acknowledged as the
true heir of the last Korean royal chef of Joseon Dynasty… well the story is
kinda lacking for me…I think it lacks justification.
While watching, I’m not
really sure If I will take it seriously or not… well, there were parts that
should’ve been taken seriously but I didn’t coz most of the points in this
movie are just petty…it’s like boating in a knee level water… I think this
level of story is fine if it’s an anime movie…but for a movie… its lacking for
me.
The only part that I will surely remember
with this movie is the part of Sweetie the Cow (I’m not sure of her name)… I
was super touched…Oh… how painful it is…I felt the pain and the regret of
Seong-chan when he decided to use his cow for the next set of the cooking
battle…truly heartbreaking…even though the cow can’t talk but through her
gestures she showed her loyalty to her owner by going in to the butcher
voluntarily…huhuhuhu….
I give this drama 3 ramen. Its fine but I
wasn’t hooked by it, actually I cut my watching to take a sleep first coz I got
sleepy in the middle part and come back again just for the sake of finishing
it. Good thing, the ending is victorious and a happy one.
